Childrens Medical Office We have recently added Massachusetts General Hospital for Children (MGH-fC) to our list of primary hospital affiliations. Our four Pediatricians all remain on-staff at Children’s Hospital – Boston (CHB) and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC – newborns only), but now have admitting privileges at MGH-fC as well. We believe this will allow us to provide better care and better service to our patients and their families, by having more high-quality, state-of-the-art choices available. For most medical problems in childhood, the care provided by CHB and MGH-fC is equivalent. There are some specific diagnoses or conditions at which one or the other institution may excel – and there are also a few specific treatments and services available at one hospital but not the other. When we refer your child – whether it be for a test or study, consultation by a pediatric subspecialist, hospital admission, or ER assessment – our providers will consider the pros and cons of CHB vs. MGH-fC and recommend the place we feel is best for your individual circumstance. Sometimes practical matters will enter into that calculation as well (e.g. how much wait time currently exists to be seen). If we feel either hospital would meet your needs equally well, we will tell you that and leave the choice up to you! http://www.chmed.com The URL for this announcement is: http://www.chmed.com/article.php?sid=33 |
