With a mixture of joy and sadness, I am writing to let you know of my intention to retire from clinical practice on February 2nd, 2018. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve this community for the past 35 years as a practicing pediatrician.
It is so very difficult and bittersweet to have come to this point in my career, as over the past three and a half decades, I have had the privilege of meeting a great many people and developing lifelong friendships with many patients and families. I have watched you grow and have shared both heartache and joy with hundreds of you. I appreciate your loyalty throughout the years and will take the memories of all that I have experienced, and all you have taught me, into the next chapter of my life. It is time for me to continue to pursue academic interests at Children’s Hospital Boston, as well as personal and volunteer interests while I and my husband are still fit and of sound mind!
Please know that all of your medical records are safely on file here at CMO and remain confidential. As you all know, this practice is staffed with some of the most knowledgeable and caring physicians in the area. I highly recommend that you select one of these physicians for your future medical needs. You can review the bios of all of our providers by visiting our website at www.chmed.com
If you decide to take on a new physician outside of our practice, you can follow the traditional routes to have your records transferred. If you have any questions, you can contact Jodi Hunt, our office manager here at CMO.
If I do not have an appointment to see you prior, I wish you all health and happiness… always.
Most sincerely yours;
Dr. Karen R. Barnett, MD FAAP
