Sophie Gates, DNP, CPNP-PC is joining Children’s Medical Office as a pediatric nurse practitioner in October 2026. Sophie grew up in Massachusetts and became a registered nurse after earning her BSN from Boston College. After graduation, she worked as a staff nurse on the two inpatient pediatric medical/surgical units at Massachusetts General Hospital for several years before returning to Boston College to pursue her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, graduating in 2026. While completing her degree, Sophie also worked as a nurse at Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, where she cared for children with medical complexity. She developed her DNP project around improving the Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic process at community health centers in Boston, and presented the finalized project at regional and national conferences. Sophie also completed a year and a half of clinical training at CMO with Jacky as her preceptor, making her return as a pediatric nurse practitioner especially meaningful. She is very excited to be a part of the team and to build relationships with her patients and their families. In her free time, Sophie loves to bake, be active, and hang out with her cats. Sophie is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners (MCNP), and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP).
